Niemegk Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, an eradicated oak Vert acorned Or, flanked by two inescutcheons; at dexter Argent an eagle Gules armed Or (and tongued Gules) with cloverstems Or upon his wings; at sinister barry of ten of Sable and Or, superimposed by a crancelin Vert.
Meaning:
The oak tree is probably alluding to the groves of Niemegk and Hohenwerbig. The sinister inescutcheon is representing the Electors of Saxony, former rulers, while the dexter inescutcheon stresses that nowadays the city belongs to the State of Brandenburg. The arms had been different until 2012. The inescutcheon of Saxony had been at the dexter side. At the sinister side there had been an acorn Or with two leaves Vert. The acorn was alluding to the forestal riches of the city.
