Introduction

The municipality of San Miguel de la Ribera (356 inhabitants in 2009; 2,633 ha) is located in the south-east of the Zamora Province, 25 km from the provincial capital.

Description

The flag and arms of San Miguel de la Ribera are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 15 February 2007 by the Municipal Council, signed on 1 March 2007 by the Mayor, and published on 12 March 2007 in the official gazette of Castile and Leon, No. 50, p. 5,491. The symbols are described as follows:

Municipal flag: Rectangular flag with proportions 2:3, made of three equal horizontal stripes with the colors of the coat of arms, green, white and yellow, the coat of arms in the middle.

Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Argent a St. Michael Archangel, 2. Checky of 15 pieces, eight or and seven gules three fesses argent, Grafted in base vert a monastery argent over waves argent and azure. The shield surmounted by the Royal crown closed.
