Chrzanów - urban-rural commune, Chrzanów County, Małopolskie Voivodship.
Arms adopted on July 31, 1990 (resolution # 111/22/90) and are those
of the Grand Duchy of Warsaw to which Chrzanów was annexed on the basis
of Treaty of Schonbrunn (1809) and remained after the Duchy was dissolved
due to the fact the city was owned by Prince Albert Casimir of Saxony and
Cieszyn of royal Wettin dynasty.
This CoA served the city also during the interwar period.
Flag: a rectangle of two equal horizontal bands, blue over red, taken
from the original Arms of the city featuring Saint Nicholas.
This flag was originally adopted on May 21, 1964 and confirmed on April
28, 2003 (resolution # IX/62/03).
